Job Description Share Share Share Position: SEN Learning Support Worker Location: Poole Hourly Rate: £12.82 Start Date: November 2024 We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Worker to join our team, providing crucial support to students with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment. The successful candidate will work closely with individual students, helping them navigate their learning journey and overcome barriers, fostering positive engagement and progress. Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, focusing on personalised learning goals that encourage active participation and growth. Consistently implement behaviour and support strategies to maintain a structured, calm learning environment. Collaborate with teaching staff to facilitate small group activities that enhance social skills and promote positive interactions. Uphold and contribute to the school’s core values, ensuring a safe, inclusive atmosphere for all students. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience in an SEN or ASD support role, or experience supporting individuals with additional needs (preferred but not essential). A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach suited to the unique challenges and rewards of SEN support. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils and collaborate effectively with staff. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
