Support Technician
My fantastic client in Killamarsh is currently looking for a skilled and customer-oriented Support Technician to come on board. As a Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our internal staff members. This includes troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, performing PC builds and upgrades, maintaining printers, and creating/updating knowledge base articles. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1st line technical support to staff members via various channels such as phone, email, and in-person interactions.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to PCs, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
* Perform PC builds, upgrades, and configurations, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices.
* Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of printers, including resolving print quality issues, paper jams, and connectivity problems.
* Create, update, and maintain the knowledge base, including writing detailed and user friendly documentation for common issues and resolutions.
* Assist with the setup and configuration of new user accounts, including email, software installation, and network access.
* Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex technical issues or provide second-level support when required.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a 1st Line Support Technician or similar role customer focused role
* Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
* Proficiency in PC builds, upgrades, and configurations.
* Familiarity with printer maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management best practices.
* Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
This is an onsite role paying £25k plus benefits. The hours are 8 hours per day Monday to Friday.
