This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technical Team within the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen's University Belfast.
As a Teaching Laboratory Technician you will work within a small team of multiskilled technicians providing support, primarily in our undergraduate laboratories, setting up and maintaining a wide range of experimental equipment and associated administrative tasks. Training will also be provided to enhance existing knowledge and skillsets to help support our more specialised setups using liquid nitrogen, radioactive sources and compressed gases etc. You will build a diverse knowledge to successfully support staff and students through their education and research work.
About the person:
You must:
1. Have academic and/or vocational qualifications ie OND/ONC or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have 2 years experience working in a teaching laboratory environment.
2. Be computer literate and in the use of MS Office 365.
3. Have good communication skills, which are essential in this environment.
4. Have a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
5. Work with minimal supervision.
