Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
The EMEA ICAAP and Regulatory Stress Testing team sits within the Regulatory Controllers department within the EMEA Finance division. Regulatory Controllers are responsible for ensuring that Goldman Sachs EMEA regulated entities maintain adequate capital resources to meet their commitments and to withstand the risks to which the business is subject,. Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk, and other risks as assessed in our ICAAPs. The ICAAP and Regulatory Stress Testing team is a specialist unit which concentrates on:
1. Coordination and delivery of EMEA entities Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAPs)
2. Management of regulatory exams related to ICAAP and stress testing
3. Analysis, advocacy and implementation of regulatory developments focusing on ICAAP and regulatory stress testing prudential regulations, whether from Basel, PRA or EU authorities
YOUR IMPACT
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to lead on our ICAAP and stress testing deliverables. The role will focus on coordination of the UK entities’ ICAAPs and driving continued enhancements to the process to ensure we hold adequate capital to mitigate the risks we are exposed to. The UK ICAAPs include GSI, our UK based international broker-dealer, and GSIB, our UK bank.
The individual will liaise closely with stakeholders across the Firm including with Risk, Corporate Treasury, Legal Entity Controllers & Revenue Divisions to deliver on our stress testing obligations. This involves project management, stakeholder management, review and challenge of inputs from teams, and distilling and explaining complex results to senior management and board of directors.
The role will also involve assessing new regulations that are relevant to the ICAAP and ensuring processes remains fully in line with regulatory requirements and expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
Co-ordination of the UK ICAAPs covering the UK broker-deal, UK bank and consolidated UK regulated group:
4. Developing and executing the ICAAP project plan
5. Coordinating stakeholders to ensure delivery in line with the plan
6. Acting as secretary to UK capital and stress test steering group; leading the UK capital and stress test working group
7. Presentation of results to senior management; explaining complex concepts clearly
8. Assessing the impact of regulatory developments that impact the ICAAP and leading the implementation of changes to processes
9. Coordinating production of the ICAAP documentation for submission to regulators
10. Advisory support to local teams in EMEA to support production of ICAAPs for GS regulated entities located outside of the UK
