We are on course to significantly transform the later living experience in the UK with a commitment to expand our portfolio to 34 retirement villages, which equates to around 5,000 age-appropriate homes for retirees.
Head of Resourcing and Development is responsible for shaping and driving the supply of competent and engaged colleagues to fulfil IVG’s workforce plan and organizational development in line with the organization’s People Strategy and EDI ambitions. The Role:
Resourcing
* Developing and implementing a recruitment strategy that promotes a diverse talent pool, supports the organisation’s strategic direction in terms of workforce design, and enhances the organisation culture.
* Creating and maintaining workable frameworks for the successful devolution of front-line recruitment to villages, ensuring a consistent approach and best practices are adhered to, whilst continually working with stakeholders to ensure systems and processes are optimised.
* Leading and managing the end-to-end recruitment process for the Central and London Office and hard-to-fill roles, to attract and retain top talent across all levels of the organisation.
* Managing relationships with external recruitment agencies, where needed, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
* Effectively plan and manage the Recruitment budget and spending.
Training & Development
* Developing and executing a comprehensive L&D strategy that includes leadership development, technical skills enhancement, and career progression frameworks to produce high-performing teams throughout the business.
* Defining job-specific technical competencies for roles across the organisation, in collaboration with department heads, ensuring these competencies align with business needs and provide clarity for employee development.
* Defining manager and colleague behavioural competencies to ensure we manage and behave in a consistent and values-driven manner in the workplace, and with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
* Creating career development tools and resources (e.g., competency frameworks, skills assessments) that allow employees to map their progression within the organisation and identify gaps in skills.
* Implementing training programs tailored to both technical skills and soft skills, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and individual career growth plans.
* Establishing and promoting continuous learning opportunities, technical training, and leadership programs, to support employee growth.
* Leading the organisation’s in-house coaching and mentoring program.
* Development of Training Needs Analysis for job families across all companies, ensuring training provision is relevant and useful and drives performance across the organisation.
* Review of Development Review templates and mechanisms, enabling effective succession and workforce planning.
* Particular focus on management development.
Early-Career Talent Development
* Leading the development of early-career pathways, including graduate schemes, apprenticeships, and internships, ensuring clear progression routes into permanent roles.
* Designing and implementing targeted development programs for early-career talent to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career potential within the organisation.
* Working closely with educational institutions, local communities, and apprenticeship providers to build a diverse talent pool and offer work-based learning opportunities.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
* Leading on EDI strategy, driving initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
* Champion a culture of equity, ensuring all employees have access to equal opportunities for growth, development, and career advancement.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and practices that promote diversity at all levels of the organisation.
* Developing metrics to track and measure EDI progress, reporting regularly to senior leadership on key diversity and inclusion goals and achievements.
* Fostering partnerships with external organisations, communities, and networks to enhance the organisation’s EDI initiatives and reputation.
Key Requirements:

* £50,000 to £60,000 per annum with a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10%
