Financial Control is a key function within our Enabling Functions Finance team. The team is split to support the different businesses within Deloitte. The primary function of the team is to ensure our reported figures have integrity and are a true and fair reflection of the financial position of the business. Accordingly, the team is responsible for the coordination and successful completion of the month end and year end close, and ensuring appropriate financial controls being in place. The team provides advice to the business on the application and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, standards, and controls.

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance professional to join our team of Financial Controllers.
Working closely with the Financial Controller/Senior Financial Controller for the designated Business Area and collaborating with the Business and our Business Finance team, you will gain a high level of understanding of opportunities and challenges within the business in order to deliver effective financial controls and technical advice, to strengthen the internal financial control environment and enable better decision making. For the role to be effective you will need to build strong relationships with all stakeholders based on trust and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the month end financial close process, reviewing and investigating account balances and preparing associated adjustments or journals
* Supporting the business on revenue recognition and management questions
* Lead on preparing balance sheet reconciliation and issue resolution
* Ad hoc analysis and investigation
* Supporting operation of key financial controls
* Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting external audit process and managing queries from our external auditors
* Liaising and collaborating with other members of the internal finance team and the business, including Financial Control team in GFS
* Financial & system housekeeping activities to maintain strong financial controls
* Contribute to continuous improvement

* Ability to build solid relationships with different stakeholders and possess strong financial controls experience, with a questioning mind to assess existing processes and look for efficiencies and improvements.
* Strong technical, problem solving and analytical skills
* A high degree of computer literacy and good Excel skills
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of the key factors and drivers which influence business performance
* Work to the highest quality standards and attention to detail
* A proactive hands-on approach and a "can/will do" attitude
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
* Experience of using SAP preferred but not essential
