Bennett and Game are currently on the lookout for a skilled Manufacturing Technician for one of our longest standing clients based in Bedford who work within the automated solutions of the engineering industry.
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Technician with a genuine interest in engineering and manufacturing. The ideal individual should have a flexible approach to working, be trustworthy and confident to work independently with strong attention to detail.
Manufacturing Technician Job Overview
* Read technical drawings and fully prepare parts for next operations.
* Carry out sheet metal fabrications preparation processes.
* Use a variety of machine and bench tools e.g., grinders, drills and rivet guns.
* Ensuring metal components are clean and scratch free.
* The pre-preparation of welded components (Dual action sanding, edge cleaning, etc).
* The operating of CNC brake press would be beneficial.
* Loading, unloading and operating the automated washers.
Manufacturing Technician Job Requirements
* A background of working in sheet metal.
* Knowledge of materials, ability to distinguish types.
* Appetite to learn new processes within the sheet metal department.
* 1+ years' experience working on brake presses would be very beneficial.
* Powder coat painting experience - beneficial but not necessary.
* Welding experience beneficial but not necessary.
* Based within a commutable distance of Bedford.
* Full UK driving licence would be beneficial.
Manufacturing Technician Salary & Benefits
* Salary - £32,000 to £38,000 - DOE.
* Working hours: - 14:00-00:00 (40-hour rolling work pattern).
* Shift pattern - 4 days on, 3 days off, etc.
* Only work 1 weekend in a month.
* 22 days holiday + bank holidays.
