Senior Pharmacy Technician - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract The London Independent Hospital 37.5 Hours & Fixed Term Salary: Up to £35,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The London Independent Hospital in Stepney Green is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician t o join their team of staff in the Pharmacy Department. This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern between Monday to Friday 9:00am and 17:00pm and additional Saturdays on rota. Duties of this role include: Provide a high standard of technical support in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient, and theatre areas. Support ward-based services such as stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and discharge preparation. Assist pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective use of medicines in line with clinical protocols and policies. Oversee the daily work of pharmacy technicians, assistants, and trainees, supporting task allocation and workflow management. Act as a role model and first point of contact for technical queries and day-to-day problem solving. Support the induction, training, and competency development of junior team members. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Significant experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting. Strong knowledge of medicines management, stock control, and technical pharmacy services. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
