BEMS Contract Manager - £70K - Leeds
VIGO Recruitment is working with a leading client to onboard an experienced Senior Contracts Manager. Operating at a regional level, this role requires a proactive individual to oversee contract management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and with optimal financial results.
This customer-facing position demands strong leadership, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, robust IT skills, and the ability to navigate complex systems.
Your Mission
Take ownership of the end-to-end project lifecycle, including commercial oversight, delivery, and team leadership.
Ensure client expectations are met while managing, mitigating, and eliminating commercial risks.
Liaise effectively between the Regional Manager and project delivery teams to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Oversight:
Protect the company’s commercial interests and oversee full cost management for all projects.
Conduct monthly cost-to-complete reviews and participate in WIP meetings with finance.
Negotiate and finalise accounts, manage payment certifications, and oversee cash flow and debt control.
Project Management:
Ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, and quality standards.
Manage project variations, interim applications for payment, and procurement.
Attend site progress meetings and oversee project documentation for warranty and service support.
Leadership and Team Development:
Support and manage Project Managers and sub-contractors.
Conduct annual appraisals, identify training needs, and foster team development.
Lead customer escalation issues to resolution and coordinate resources effectively.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare revenue forecast reports and provide accurate order updates.
Maintain open communication with internal colleagues to ensure seamless project delivery.
The Ideal Candidate
Extensive contracting knowledge, commercial expertise, and technical understanding.
Proven experience in budget management and financial oversight.
A minimum of 5 years in a customer-focused role, with strong people management skills.
Exceptional organisational abilities and a track record of driving continual improvement.
Strong IT proficiency and the ability to adapt to multiple systems.
