Are you an inspiring and motivated teacher with a proven track record of good teaching and leadership within a specialist setting providing for children with severe and complex needs? Do you want to be part of a committed, dynamic team who are constantly improving their professional practice?
We are looking to appoint an experienced SEND lead teacher for our Area Resource Base which caters for 20 children with severe and complex learning needs. The needs of the children include autism, communication and language difficulties, and global development delay. The ARB is an integral part of our two form entry mainstream school. Our ARB children integrate into mainstream where appropriate and are a highly valued group within our pupil base.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading our highly skilled team comprising of a second teacher plus a support team of nine LSAs. Responsibilities will include teaching and learning within the ARB on a day to day basis, inspiring and supporting our specialist team, completing EHCP reports and other documentation required for our children, liaising with other agencies and parents, as well as being a key member of our wider staff body. The post will suit a teacher experienced in teaching children with complex learning needs and who is able to maintain positive and warm relationships with children and parents in challenging situations. The ability to safeguard children's needs will be paramount.
