Electrical Inspector
Description:
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is seeking an Electrical Inspector for a 6-month contract with a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct response led and regular inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs, reporting to the Senior Inspector.
* Perform necessary repair works as part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme.
* Carry out written annual inspections (along with recommendations) of electrical services for properties, discuss with relevant team members as basis asset management strategy.
* Respond to emergency requests for necessary electrical repair work and arrange for remedial action to be taken to make safe the repair.
* Issue detailed repair instructions to internal and external contractors, check, agree, and verify submitted invoices prior to payment.
* Supervise the standard and timely completion of repair work and minor projects ensuring value for money, quality, and best practice.
* Liaise with premise managers, translate their requirements or requests, and discuss repair work, minor planned budgets, and other issues affecting mechanical services of non-housing premises.
* Maintain a working knowledge of energy management and plant control systems (BEMS) and conventional heat controls, identifying and reporting accordingly.
* Provide an electrical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects allocated to you, following capital project procedures.
* Ensure health and safety by implementing, promoting, and monitoring safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and corporate policies.
Essential Skills:
* Experience in the electrical services industry within the commercial services sector, preferably practical site experience.
* Possession of a construction/services related HNC or equivalent.
* Knowledge of current legislation and codes of practice.
* Good communication and negotiating skills.
* Mobility throughout the Council area.
Desirable Skills:
* Contract management experience.
* A current driving licence.
* Membership of a relevant trade body.
* Additional relevant training and experience.
* Corporate membership.
* Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
* Proficient use of IT software such as CAFM systems, maintenance works ordering, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Salary:
Estimated salary range £40,000 - £60,000 per annum based on location and industry standards.
