French with Spanish Teacher to teach from Y7 to GCSE

Hays Education are exclusively recruiting for Wakefield Independent School, a small, non-selective, independent day school, part of the historic Nostell Priory Estate, situated in the heart of West Yorkshire. This co-educational day school caters for children from 3 to 16 years within their three school structure. The Rectory houses the foundation, infant and junior years. Wragby is the base for our lower senior years and Nostell is home to their upper seniors.
French teacher to join the Wakefield Independent School team three days per week. (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
The French/Spanish teacher will be tasked with teaching students how to speak and write in French/Spanish, developing a range of assessments including written and oral tests, and creating an overall positive learning experience. The candidate should be able to work with students who have different capabilities and interests.
To be successful as an MFL teacher, the candidate should demonstrate patience, passion, and excellent analytical skills. Outstanding candidates are able to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses and take an innovative approach to language teaching.
The salary for this teaching role is £22,000 - £25,000 FTE. This equates to £16,500 - £18,750 for the part-time role.
Responsibilities:
• Assessing the capabilities of the students and developing appropriate lesson plans and curricula.
• Pronouncing words and phrases and explaining their meanings to students.
• Conducting research to develop appropriate learning materials, language games, and other teaching aids.
• Using both in-class activities and online resources and platforms to create a blended learning environment.
• Teaching the various tiers of French/Spanish to students.
• Developing and grading informal and formal written and oral assessments.
• Scheduling feedback sessions with students and providing extra support or enrichment activities as required.
• Making rmendations to students for further learning and development.
• Organising conversational classes and fun events where students can engage with French/Spanish culture.
• Updating records and handling various administrative duties.
MFL Teacher Requirements:
• Degree in MFL and QTS is required.
• Proven proficiency in oral and written French/Spanish.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbalmunication skills.
• Patience and resilience.
• Innovative thinking.
• Good administration skills.
