CNWL NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Community Service based in Milton Keynes. Main duties of the job
* Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for children with complex needs in the community.
* Provide clinical guidance, supervision, and mentorship within a small team of Occupational Therapists (OT), OT assistant and regular students.
* Provide administrative support to the Service Manager, assisting with team coordination, performance monitoring, and service development.
* Ensure person-centred care is delivered in line with service standards and best practice.
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintain high standards of record-keeping and documentation

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
* Significant experience in paediatric occupational therapy ( at either Band 6 or Band 7 level).
* Strong clinical leadership and team-working skills.
* Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff and/or students.
* Ability to manage a varied and highly complex caseload and provide high-quality care in a community setting.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families in the community.
* Experience of working under pressure and actively using formal and informal supervision to support this.
* Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing needs and priorities.
Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* Recognised Occupational Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent
* Currently registered with HCPC
* Post Graduate training
* Advanced training to masters level or equivalent
* Extensive training relevant to post
Experience
* Extensive paediatric experience
* Experience supporting junior staff/students
* Specialist knowledge of equipment used with children
* Experience leading on projects
Skills & Knowledge
* Established knowledge of specialist client group
