Your Role in a Nutshell
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be providing 1:1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring they feel supported, confident, and included in the classroom. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational experience, guiding them through academic tasks, social interactions, and personal growth.
Your Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEN, helping them reach their full potential
* Assist with academic tasks, adapting lessons to suit the child’s unique learning needs
* Support social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
* Collaborate with the teacher and SENCO to ensure a tailored approach to learning
* Encourage participation in class activities, promoting confidence and inclusion
* Track the child’s progress and report back to the teaching team to adapt support strategies
* Maintain a calm and nurturing presence to create a positive, supportive learning atmosphere
What You Bring to the Role:
* A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them succeed
* Experience working with children or in an educational setting (ideal but not essential)
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both children and staff
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
* Ability to adapt to the child’s needs and provide individualized support
* A Level 2 or 3 childcare/education qualification (preferable, but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
