Senior Project Planner
Multiple locations available in West London, Dorset, and Buckinghamshire.
This role involves overseeing and coordinating complex projects. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who excels in precision and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning: Ensure the quality and accuracy of project plans, schedule analysis, and resource allocation in alignment with project objectives.
* Reporting: Prepare detailed reports to provide up-to-date project insights for project managers and stakeholders.
* Plan Integrity: Maintain and verify the integrity of project plans, ensuring timely updates and clear communication across all levels.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor and track project performance, ensuring data accuracy on a weekly and monthly basis.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline the planning and execution process.
* Issue Resolution: Identify and address project issues, communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders.
* Resource Planning: Oversee resource planning, identifying project requirements, resolving conflicts, and ensuring proper allocation.
* Review and Refine: Conduct regular project control reviews to assess and refine planning processes.
* Earned Value Management (EVM) and Critical Path Analysis (CPA): Apply and report on EVM and CPA.
* Risk and Opportunity Assessment: Manage Risk and Opportunity assessments and updates.
* Best Practices: Implement best practice tools and processes to enhance planning efficiency.
* Bid and Proposal Support: Support the development of bids and proposals, contributing to successful project acquisition.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree or relevant qualification (APM certification preferred).
* In-depth knowledge and experience with the APM Body of Knowledge (APM membership preferred).
* Proven expertise in project planning, ideally within the aerospace and defense sectors.
* Solid understanding of planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS).
* Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent planning tools.
* Experience with Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes.
* Demonstrated ability in EVM, CPA, and QSRA.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead cross-functional efforts.
* Familiarity with industry regulations and standards in aerospace and defence.
