Looking for a Chartered Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical services and a strong focus on design excellence? Our client offers a proven track record in leading projects, from preparing briefs to attending design reviews and approving technical drawings.

Responsibilities:
Our client is looking for a client-side Chartered Design Engineer who has experience in the design and specification of mechanical services and will act as the design authority on projects, promoting design excellence. You will prepare outline briefs, performance specifications, attend design reviews, approve technical drawings, review and approve derogations from employers' requirements, and carry out value engineering reviews of external consultants' designs.
You will have experience delivering sustainable solutions that contribute to the Net Zero roadmap and lead on decarbonisation strategies. The candidate shall assume ownership of the suite of Building Design Guides and shall be responsible for review and updating on a periodic basis, ensuring that sustainable products and construction best practices are incorporated into the estates at project conception. You can also use your skills to assist the wider Estates team carrying out Pre-Acquisition Surveys, TDD (Technical Due Diligence), Condition Surveys, and Dilapidation Surveys.
Desired Experience:
1. Qualified Design Engineer - Chartered/MCIBSE status or working towards.
2. Proven experience in mechanical engineering design within the building services industry.
3. Ability to write technical reports (RIBA 0-2, feasibility, issue investigation, condition/dilap surveys).
4. Experience creating outline briefs, scope of works and performance specifications for planned maintenance and lifecycle works packages.
5. Experience of working with digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit. You will also have experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment.
6. Experience with new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects.
