Job Description Summary:
Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) is a business platform that plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of the Group strategic view by working collaboratively across the Platform leadership team to grow and deepen customer relationships. PEC enables and delivers personalised customer communications and experiences across all channels, media, and business areas supporting the Customer Relationship Growth strategy.
This exciting opportunity is within the PEC platform for a Software Engineer. As the Software Engineer, you'll lead and shape approaches to solving technical challenges and translating business requirements into technical solutions. You will work collaboratively to create, build, support, and improve our software while ensuring good quality and engineering practices are followed.
Responsibilities:
An ideal Software Engineer will need to display broad and deep technical experience with a passion for engineering excellence. We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual, able to use and learn new skills in varying circumstances. You'll be curious about technology and understand how things work, demonstrating the right values and behaviors.
Minimum Requirements:
* Strong understanding of Java 8+, Springboot, Hibernate.
* Development of RestFull API services & understanding of API Gateways (e.g., APIGEE).
* Building applications harnessing container technologies e.g., Docker.
* Managing applications deployed to Kubernetes clusters, Istio & Helm.
* Cloud experience: GCP, GKE, IaC (Terraform).
* Build Tools & DevOps principles: GIT, Maven, Jenkins CI/CD, Nexus, SonarQube.
* SQL/NoSQL database, Basic Unix/Linux Skills, TDD using JUNIT.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience of building microservice architecture and event-driven systems.
* Test automation experience: BDD, mocking, contract testing.
* Exposure to web technologies, data tooling & infrastructure/networking.
* Banking & Finance experience.
