PE Global is recruiting an Engine Electronic Systems Engineer for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract and is hybrid (3 days a week onsite) after the initial training phase. The rate for this role is £29.20 to £39.23 p/h. Responsibilities of the role: • Work with process partner teams to gather and develop requirements for RED (Rapid Electrification Development) prototype machines and our in-flight hybrid powertrain development programmes. • Design and development of the HV (>60V) and LV (12/24V) electrical systems, for these projects, in alignment with IEC (phone number removed). • Participation in electrical system FMEAs, documenting potential failure modes, identifying and completing design and validation actions and managing subsequent updates. • Creation of HV (>60V) PDU validation schedule and activities. Requirements of the role: • Technical degree (electronic, electrical, control systems or automotive engineering) with experience in hybrid and electrification powertrain technologies, including electric motors/machines; electric vehicles; power electronics; HV (>60V) and LV (12/24V) systems; battery and battery management systems. • Experience of HIL/dSpace development • Electronic systems knowledge – Proven methodical fault-finding and Validation capability during development and post production. (Not looking for an electrician or PCB level design). • Electronic systems design – requirements, documenting and FMEA • Defining Electronic features and coordinating the development of them with other teams. • Experience of systems integration, testing and validation of electric powertrain systems and components. • Knowledge of systems FMEA and validation plan creation. • Excellent communications skills • Ability to understand and develop customer requirements and objectives for the design and development of hybrid and electric powertrain.
