HMP Stoke Heath is looking to fill long-term temporary contract jobs for Contractor Escorts.
Overview of the position:
As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, this is a long-term temporary contract with a rate of £ (including holiday pay) and a basic rate (excluding holiday pay) of £.
The Contractor Escort role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of teamwork. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally.
Purpose of the Contractor Escort role:
As part of the security team, you will be responsible for assisting in the safety and security of the establishment. Your duties will include escorting building contractors and ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff, and prisoners within the prison establishment. You will also ensure that no unauthorized persons or items enter the establishment.
Experience:
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential risks. You will also need to be reliable, consistent, level-headed, and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer service or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: acting with integrity, respecting others, building relationships and teamwork, communicating effectively, and developing self and others.
Full training is provided by the establishment/department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.
Security Clearance required:
All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure, which can take up to 4 weeks. This can include a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. You must hold a valid passport or birth certificate & photo driving license at your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 3 years of ex-employer references.
