We are seeking a proactive and dedicated EDIE Lead to join the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust for 18 months. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to fostering an inclusive culture where all staff and service users feel valued, respected, and empowered.
Hybrid working at Kings Court 2, Worcester, home and across Trust sites.
Virtual interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 6th January 2025.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role:
* Support the implementation of the EDIE agenda, ensuring alignment with the NHS People Promise and national priorities.
* Lead projects, facilitate training, and monitor progress against EDIE objectives.
* Collaborate with staff networks, HR, and external organisations to enhance equity and inclusion.
* Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and championing best practices.
* Develop, deliver, and evaluate EDIE-related programmes and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide leadership and support for EDIE projects and services.
* Analyse workforce data to inform strategic decision-making.
* Coordinate and deliver training to all staff levels.
* Manage staff networks, supervise team members, and oversee EDIE-related activities.
* Produce and present mandatory reports, including those related to the Workforce Race Equality Standard and Workforce Disability Equality Standard.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Highly developed specialist and in-depth knowledge of Workforce Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion matters.
* Specialist knowledge of relevant EDIE legislative and policy framework.
* Ability to work autonomously guided by principles, broad policies, and regulations, and initiate, devise, and lead EDIE improvements that contribute to meeting local and regional EDIE strategies.
* Ability to provide information, advice, and guidance to division heads of service and wider colleagues.
Additional criteria
* Ability to travel across locations.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
* Experience of applying equalities knowledge in a complex organisation, where there was a requirement to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
* Extensive experience of working collaboratively with wider team members to deliver projects, initiatives, and change.
* Facilitation of learning and training sessions.
* Experience of managing projects.
* Experience of delivering positive and practical outcomes across a range of conflicting priorities.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to provide leadership and support to teams within the workplace.
* Excellent communication and listening skills, ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds ensuring positive and constructive relationships with staff at all levels.
* Ability to analyse, interpret, and compare workforce data to derive insights and generate action plans.
* Ability to communicate, present, and facilitate complex information trust-wide in a variety of contexts and levels.
* Effectively communicates in formal report writing to provide clarity and purpose.
* Confident and well-developed negotiating and influencing skills.
* Competent in the use of all Microsoft IT packages to produce spreadsheets and reports on EDIE activity for boards and governance meetings.
