Job Description:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance technicians, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
2. Resource Management:
Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring necessary parts and equipment are available for maintenance activities. Coordinate with procurement to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing costs.
3. Project Oversight:
Oversee maintenance projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects effectively.
4. Performance Monitoring:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance operations, such as equipment downtime, repair turnaround times, and maintenance costs. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Training Development:
Identify training needs for maintenance technicians and develop training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge. Provide coaching and support to team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards in maintenance activities. Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team and implement measures to mitigate risks and hazards.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory logs. Prepare regular reports on maintenance performance and present findings to senior management as needed.
8. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with ASIB and BRCGS accreditation requirements related to maintenance activities. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet accreditation standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance and address any non-conformities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
2. Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role, with a strong understanding of maintenance principles and practices.
3. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and manage a team.
4. Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
5. Knowledge of maintenance software systems for tracking and managing maintenance activities.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
7. Commitment to safety and quality standards.
8. Certification in maintenance management or related field (e.g., CMRP, CPMM) is a plus.
