An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Practitioner within our Family Support Teams, part of the Safeguarding Outcomes Service. We are dedicated to being a creative and dynamic Local Authority, thinking differently about our work with families. We prioritize providing tailored, high-quality services and well-thought-out interventions to ensure children's safety and well-being.

About the role:
You will work in partnership with an enthusiastic team led by a Team Manager and Deputy Team Manager, collaborating with Senior Practitioners, qualified Social Workers, Family Support Practitioners, and administrative staff.
This challenging yet rewarding role involves responding to, coordinating, and delivering social care services to children, young people, and families in Bath and North East Somerset, including those subject to Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and legal proceedings. We work closely with colleagues across services and have established partnerships with health, education, support services, and adult services to meet families' needs effectively.
We seek applicants with relevant experience and a specific interest in this area, eager to develop their skills and contribute to service development for vulnerable children.
What you can expect:
* Managing caseloads with various support and interventions for children in need, child protection, and legal proceedings.
* Regular supervision, at least monthly one-on-one meetings.
* Weekly group supervision to foster thoughtful and creative practice, supported by peers and managers.
* Monthly Peer Circles to strengthen relationships and share good practices among Family Support Practitioners.
* Ongoing training, including Video Interactive Guidance, Theraplay, Domestic Violence interventions, and other relevant programs.
* Opportunities for career development, including the Social Work Apprenticeship degree.
