An opportunity for an experienced Security Architect to provide critical security architecture services and leadership to a high profile portfolio of digital defence projects. Focusing on implementing Secure by Design principles aligned with Ministry of Defence (MoD) standards and broader industry regulations. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to design, implement, and continuously improve robust security solutions across the organisation. Responsibilities Develop and champion a comprehensive security architecture vision across the programme, its projects, and technologies. Create and design new architectural patterns and practices that address existing, future, complex, unpredictable security challenges. Effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders throughout the organisation. Establish security patterns and ensure quality assurance across all stages of implementation. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance security architecture. Foster cross-functional collaboration with other IT disciplines to ensure holistic security approaches. Balance nuanced security requirements with business needs, evaluating the security implications of architectural decisions. Develop long-term strategies for high-impact projects to enhance overall organisational security posture. Ensure compliance with MoD standards, industry regulations, and relevant data protection laws. Guide and mentor less experienced team members, fostering their professional development. Develop and promote best practices and standards for security. Requirements Extensive experience of designing and implementing security architectures and strategies for deeply secure government environments. Strong appreciation for modern defence environments. Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as cross functional teams. Strong team leadership experience. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, synthesising information to portray key messages and facilitate effective decision making. Strong broad technical knowledge of digital security standards.
