Job Title: Purchasing Assistant Location: Keighley Temp – 3 Months, weekly pay Salary: £26000 - £30000 Elevation Recruitment are working exclusively with a fantastic business based in Keighley. They are looking to recruit for a Purchasing Assistant to join the team on a temporary basis for 3 months. The role is a standalone role within the procurement team, so the individual must have prior knowledge of working in a similar role or within stores. Main Duties will include: Plan, forecast, place & expedite orders to meet the delivery requirements of each project; Work closely with the Group Procurement Director and Engineering Department to champion the commercial objectives of the business; Support production operations to ensure material needed to build the company's products are available when required; Negotiate price, delivery, specifications and quality to meet project budgets and technical requirements; Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers to meet project requirements; Manage design changes and variations to contract and coordinate with the Engineering Department and Production; Manage purchasing enquiries, analysis of quotations & decisions based on evaluation of quotations; Responsible for master data entry and integrity of vendor master records, purchasing information records, and contracts; Attending multifunctional project team meetings to gather information on operational needs and to give progress on supplier orders; Collect KPIs and data for the Group Procurement Director to analysis on a monthly basis; In terms of the type of person we are looking for we ideally need someone who is agile because Dowson is a small workforce, which means colleagues sometimes need to help out in other areas. Other key requirements would be: Procurement experience working in a technical/manufacturing environment; Experience of project-based, work to order manufacturing environment; Experience working alongside engineers and technical staff; • Familiarity with SAGE or manufacturing ordering systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office software; Self motivated and able to organise own workload; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; Proactive individual with strong problem solving skills and a focus on solutions If you are interested in this vacancy please get in touch ASAP.
