Job Summary:
This is a key role in our growing catering team. The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing their section of the kitchen, preparing high-quality food, and ensuring the smooth operation of their designated area. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The successful candidate will be someone who can execute this role and also be a positive member of our team, who will improve our culture. This role is full time and permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, following recipes and guidelines.
* Manage and supervise a section of the kitchen.
* Ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to ensure the section is well-stocked.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
* Contribute to menu planning and development, bringing new ideas and creativity to the kitchen.
Requirements:
* Attention to detail and a passion for food.
* Experience as a Chef de Partie, or as a Demi CDP looking to make the step up.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
* Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Tidily presented
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative as expected
* Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Working Conditions:
* This role will require working some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* This role is based on 45 hours per week, spread over 4 or 5 days.
* Standing for extended periods and working in a hot, busy kitchen environment
