Project Manager - Construction
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £400 per day
An opportunity has arisen for Project Manager based in the North West. The Project manager is required for Capital Projects an Merseyside Council. This local Authority has an ambitious and varied capital programme and seeks experienced interim Project Managers for a range of projects including schools, leisure centres and depots, ranging in value from £0.5m to £20m+. This is an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who can hit the ground running to help deliver projects that make a positive contribution to the city, its environment and residents. The role is 4-5 days per week for up to 6 months. Based in very pleasant Liverpool Council offices on the Waterfront. Ideally 3 days a week in the office with home working possible on other days.
Key aspects of the role include:
1. Leading the development of projects working with Sponsors and Users, preparing business cases.
2. Project delivery strategy.
3. Acting as the Client PM on projects, Managing multidisciplinary project teams.
4. Preparing and managing project budgets, financial reporting, programming and project planning including risk management plans.
5. Preparing consultancy briefs, procuring and managing consultants and service contracts.
6. Site visits. Experience Required: Delivery of buildings from inception to completion across the full range of RIBA stages.
7. Acting as a Client PM for large scale/complex projects.
8. Experience of JCT /NEC contracts Procurement and appointment of specialists – design team, cost planners, external PMs,
9. CA Planning application process, development management
10. Other RICS/RIBA/CIOB/APM qualifications essential.
11. Construction industry recognised Project Management Qualification
12. Must have the ability to undertake site visits.
13. Foster a culture of change readiness and continuous improvement across the service
14. Work with other Project Managers within the Programme to manage dependencies and deliver change consistently
