Late Shift Team Leader – Manufacturing Location: Sittingbourne Salary: Competitive hourly rate Overtime (1.5x pay) Working Hours: 1:30 PM – 12:30 AM (Late Shift) Monday-Thursday - 4 day week. Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Late Shift Team Leader to join a well-established manufacturing company. As a key player in the late shift operations, you’ll be responsible for overseeing a dedicated team and ensuring the smooth running of production processes, including Laser, Punch, Press Brake, TIG & MIG Welding, and Bench work. This is a permanent position offering competitive pay and an excellent working environment. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Supervise and guide the late shift team across multiple work centres, ensuring quality and efficiency. Production Management: Allocate work effectively based on the handover from the day shift foreman and monitor progress toward time targets and deadlines. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks, report issues to the Quality Manager and Day Shift Foreman, and maintain high standards of work. Resource Management: Troubleshoot production problems, coordinate material and consumable requests, and ensure effective resource usage. Lean Manufacturing: Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency through process optimization. Communication: Facilitate clear and accurate communication between shifts and management. What We’re Looking For: Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bench work (tapping, drilling, cutting) and ideally, MIG & TIG welding experience. Willingness to learn Punch and Brake Press operations is a plus. Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality and the ability to monitor and maintain high production standards.
