A day in the life of a Young Refugee Support Service Manager will involve:
You’ll manage a compassionate team, oversee impactful projects, and ensure the delivery of holistic, high-quality support to help them navigate life in the UK and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, inspire, and manage a team of staff and volunteers to deliver effective services for young refugees and asylum seekers.
2. Develop and implement tailored programs to address their unique needs, including emotional support, life skills development, education access, and housing assistance.
3. Build partnerships with local authorities, community organizations, and other stakeholders to maximize support.
4. Ensure all services are delivered in line with British Red Cross values and safeguarding policies.
5. Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, making data-driven decisions to continuously improve services.
6. Manage budgets and contribute to funding applications to sustain and expand programs.
7. Represent the British Red Cross in external forums and raise awareness about the needs of young refugees.
To be a successful Young Refugee Support Service Manager, You’ll need:
1. Proven experience managing services for vulnerable groups, ideally within the refugee or youth sectors.
2. Knowledge of refugee issues, migration, and asylum processes in the UK.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in volunteer coordination.
4. Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and service development.
5. Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
