* To ensure medical records are filed in line with Information Governance procedures * Using the digital dictation system, type confidential referral letters from the Clinicians to Hospitals and other agencies * Responsible for ensuring that accurate work is completed within the time limits and standards set * Upload referral letters to various platforms (e-referrals) and send referrals via email and manage e-referral work lists daily * Maintain log of referral letters. Type other general patient based letters and surgery documents as required * Resolve or signpost queries from patients, carers, internal departments and external agencies as appropriate * To ensure patient referrals are processed and to timely input, update, maintain information and resolve queries on the patient record * Liaise with the Medical Examiner and Coroner and associated administration * Provide typing and other administrative support to the Practice Manager/Assistant Practice Manager * Set up referral templates within the clinical database, and maintain and update standard letters and forms used in the Surgery * Liaise with Hospital and other agencies about referrals and appointments * Prepare medical insurance reports/medical records following the Practice Protocol agreed by the GP Partners * Dealing with patient queries over the telephone and in person * Other secretarial/admin support as required
