Responsibilities include:
1. Providing strategic and operational leadership, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
2. Managing a workforce of over 100 employees, including oversight of recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures.
3. Ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction across all areas of the business through the delivery of high-quality service and operational excellence.
4. Controlling operational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring all business and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
5. Leading continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
6. Overseeing all departmental functions to ensure alignment with company objectives and that performance targets are achieved.
Knowledge required:
* Extensive senior management experience within an engineering environment, ideally with a strong background in sheet metal, fabrication, and laser cutting operations.
* A demonstrable track record of driving business growth and delivering sustained profitability, with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
* In-depth understanding of management profit and loss accounts, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, combined with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers, creating a competitive advantage.
* Energetic, confident, and hands-on leadership approach, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to inspire others.
