We strive to provide excellent professional support, be a trusted provider of strategic insight and internal and external influence working with University, divisional, and other research leaders across the University.The Trusted Research team is a small and collaborative team within the Research Funding and Contracts team in Research Services. We manage casework and compliance, and establish policy and practice for the University in research security.One sentence summary of jobThe International Collaboration Specialist is a new role in the Trusted Research team in Research Services. You will play a key role in enabling the University’s vital international research collaborations in an increasingly dynamic environment. You will support researchers advising them of appropriate actions and enabling their research activity; liaising with colleagues in professional services as appropriate. You will help raise internal awareness of trusted research matters with and provide training for a wide range of research and research -related staff through a variety of means e.g. training sessions, community of practice, expert networks, surgeries.You will be an active participant in a variety of external networks and project groups such as the Higher Education Export Control Association. You will use your experience to brief senior members of the University and contribute to national consultations. About You To be successful in this varied and interesting role, you will need be confident in dealing with people, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels with tact, diplomacy and discretions.You will be able to grasp complex and potentially large amounts of information, getting to the heart of an issue and developing pragmatic, well founded, advice.You will feel comfortable working on your own and within a team.
