Support Worker (Internally know as an Enablement Assistant) Pay rate: £12.50 per hour Location: Bournemouth, Dorset Hours per week: Bank hours A full UK driving license is required About the role We are looking for an experienced Support worker with a background in working with people who have a Learning Disability, Autism or experience in supporting people with behaviours that challenge. You may have transferable skills or experience such as working in Mental Health settings, forensic settings or with those living with Dementia. You will be passionate about providing the right support. The person you will be supporting is 29 year old Jack. Jack has autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge. He loves to spend his time shopping in various retail outlets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, WHSmith, and Smyths Toys. He also really enjoys going bowling, taking forest walks, and feeding the ducks. Jack enjoys watching YouTube, playing on the Nintendo WII, and watching DVD's. He also enjoys going to fun fair to watch the rides in motion, and whilst he isn't confident enough yet to ride them himself, he gets joy out of spectating and having a hot dog as part of his experience. Within PBS4, we call Support Workers ‘Enablement Assistants’. As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Manager, Deputy Enablement Manager and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership.
