Job summary This is an opportunity for secondment or fixed term role at Barnsley Hospice for a Registered Nurse to gain valuable skills in specialist palliative care and experience the delivery of outstanding care to patients. Our Staff Nurses take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of personalised nursing care for patients and support the care team in providing outstanding quality care to patients and their carers/family. Main duties of the job Working effectively as part of the MDT, they will provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical team as needed and delegate care if appropriate.Supervise and support nursing associates, healthcare assistant, volunteers and students as appropriate. To work as part of a team planning and providing direct specialist nursing care and co-ordinated interdisciplinary care for allocated patients in the IPU, ensuring care is in keeping with the needs and wishes of patients and their families.
