Carmarthenshire County Council is looking for a well-organised and experienced individual to lead the Electoral team in operational electoral registration activities, and the conduct of elections in accordance with legislation and best practice.
You will need to have analytical and problem-solving skills to meet a range of daily challenges, including the year-round electoral registration, the conduct of elections and continuous service improvement.
You will need to develop and maintain arrangements to achieve and demonstrate compliance with the Electoral Commission performance standards to ensure the effective delivery of the election.
You will have a proven track record in electoral registration and elections, and you will also hold or are working towards gaining the AEA Certificate in Electoral Administration.
Additionally, you must be able to work flexibly, particularly at election times when evening and weekend working is required.
About you
You will be a thorough and proactive individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a good eye for detail. You must be able to demonstrate:
* The ability to deliver high quality work within strict deadlines.
* An ability to manage and work well as part of the electoral team and establish and maintain good working relationships within and outside the authority.
* Ability to prepare and implement a project plan and co-ordinate and lead on the election project team to ensure that milestone targets are met and remedial actions implemented for any problems identified.
* Knowledge and understanding of best practice and quality assurance in service delivery and customer care.
