Overview: The role involves designing and managing Fire Suppression, Hydrant, and Dry/Wet Dropper Services for medium to large-scale projects in the Rail, Highways, and Power Infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities include design reviews, planning, and construction coordination in collaboration with the Engineering Manager and Contracts Responsible Engineer. Key Responsibilities: Design & Compliance: Plan, manage, and review Fire Suppression System designs (e.g., Fire Mains, Sprinkler Systems, Gas Suppression). Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Technical Oversight: Review and verify MEP designs, resolve technical issues, and ensure integration with other systems. Project Coordination: Work with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and accreditation bodies, ensuring project requirements are met. Health & Safety: Adhere to company safety principles and industry regulations. Budget & Reporting: Assist with financial tracking, reporting, and cost management. Procurement & Meetings: Support procurement processes and coordinate project-related meetings. Line Management Duties: Support team development and upskilling. Ensure policy compliance, training completion, and health & safety awareness. Maintain security and regulatory compliance. Requirements: Essential: Strong knowledge of BS9990, BS EN 12845, and other relevant standards. Experience in fire suppression system design within the rail sector. Ability to manage clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Proficiency in CAD/BIM software and project management tools. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills. Desired: Experience with BS9992 and railway-specific standards. Network Rail CRE experience or similar project leadership.
