Job Role
Our Huddersfield based client is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing team. As part of a four person engineering team-comprising two Mechanical Engineers and two Electrical Engineers-you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our production facilities. Your responsibilities will include both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of machines.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine planned maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to help prevent unexpected failures.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repairs, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to troubleshoot and optimise equipment performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and electrical regulations, maintaining up-to-date documentation for inspections and audits.
Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
Conduct fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical components, including motors, PLCs, sensors, and wiring.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, spare parts usage, and system modifications.
Support training initiatives for operators and junior staff on electrical safety and best practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
NICEIC qualifacaiton or equivlilent that allows you to sign off your own work
Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical fault-finding, PLC programming, and industrial automation systems.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable:
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Previous experience in high volume manufacturing or FMCG industries.
