The role is office based. As a Lead Occupational Health Technician, you’ll be working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30/08.30 -17.00. Flexibility and Twilight/Night shift work is required to support the teams across site, this comes with a shift allowance (T&C's apply). You will be required to travel to other Avara locations which may involve overnight stays. What will you be doing as a Lead Occupational Health Technician at Avara? As our Lead Occupational Health Technician you will be r esponsible for carrying out routine health surveillance and screening in line with legislation and company best practice whilst leading and managing a team of Health & Wellness Technicians covering the Midlands Hub, based at Telford. Working closely with key stakeholders such as site HR Managers / teams, department heads and Health & Safety to maintain annual compliance against the health surveillance plan. What will your key responsibilities as a Lead Occupational Health Technician include? Through the creation of an annual surveillance plan, working with Occupational Health Technicians within the hub, to ensure that screening and surveillance is planned, delivered and reported on Develop an understanding of job roles and equipment within Avara in order to implement appropriate routine Health Surveillance testing in line with legislation and organisational requirements.Review baseline questionnaires completed by Technicians within the hub. Ensure fitness for work health assessments for new starters are conducted effectively and act as escalation point in regards to any potential risks and review of health adjustments needed. Manage all aspects of data including ensuring records are up to date, monitoring and reporting on compliance / KPIs on a monthly basis and ensuring the security of data across the hub. Train the OH Technician team to deliver the required suite of assessments and monitor ongoing competency. Carry out the first level interpretation of any flagged audios or spiros Liaise with the HR Team where escalation to an OH Physician is required, for a referral to be completed Ensure the effectiveness of equipment by arranging annual calibration of all equipment To signpost and support colleagues in accessing company benefits that support their health and welfare.
