As the first point of contact, the HR Apprentice is responsible, as part of the HR team, for providing advice and information in relation to our policies and procedures, ensuring and accurate and responsive service to our customers.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\uD83D\uDD39Undertake general administrative duties within the HR department, supporting the team with a variety of tasks to ensuring delivery of an effective HR service to colleagues and external customers.\n\uD83D\uDD39Provision of HR Department information and records management in line with legislative requirements and document retention periods.\n\uD83D\uDD39Distribution of incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail for collection.\n\uD83D\uDD39Provision of company car and driver administration service including, but not limited to, ordering new cars, MOT certificates and processing vehicle and driver checks, administering the sale/disposal of cars, maintain insurance database and administer accident and repairs.\n\uD83D\uDD39Provision of company ID cards including, but not limited to, ordering cards and maintaining records of cards issued, sending lanyards, and deactivating cards for leavers.\n\uD83D\uDD39To participate in continuous improvement activities including process reviews, project work and day to day maintenance and development of the HR administrative systems and procedures related to employee information and HR processes.\n\uD83D\uDD39Act as first point of contact for HR related queries from managers, employees and candidates for employment opportunities, responding and resolving within agreed timescales, whilst signposting and escalating where necessary.\n\uD83D\uDD39Provide efficient and effective administrative service for the recruitment and selection of casual workers, employees and volunteers in accordance with the recruitment and selection policy and procedure. \n\uD83D\uDD39Prepare and issue contractual documentation and pre-employment checks to ensure that employees and casual workers are ready to start employment within required timescales.\n\uD83D\uDD39Process new employees and changes for existing employees on the HR Information System (HRIS) accurately and in line with monthly payroll timescales.\n\uD83D\uDD39To maintain accurate records for HR monitoring reports and KPIâs.\n\uD83D\uDD39Provide advice and guidance to support the accurate recording of sickness absence, ensuring current medical certificates are recorded for continuing absence.\n\uD83D\uDD39Preparing correspondence for employees in relation to the expiry of occupational and statutory sick pay entitlements\n\uD83D\uDD39Responding to queries in relation to annual leave and supporting effective management of annual leave via company People Manager.\n\uD83D\uDD39Act as first point of contact for queries in relation to people manager and company self-service, resolving basic user queries and developing basic guidance and user information.\n\uD83D\uDD39Undertake HRIS housekeeping and data audit tasks in line with the HR annual planner.\n \uD83D\uDD38Along with the duties in your role, you will undertake a Level 6 SVQ in Business and Administration and will be supported throughout. \uD83D\uDD395 National 5 qualifications Level C or above are essential - including English and Maths\n\uD83D\uDD39Valid UK Driving Licence and access to roadworthy car, insured for business travel is desirable\n\uD83D\uDD39Good foundation knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop environments and other Microsoft products.\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to work on own initiative, to meet deadlines, and in a flexible, pro-active way.\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to prioritise workload and multitask.\n\uD83D\uDD39Effective written and verbal communication skills to enable you to engage with users via telephone, email or Teams.\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to provide excellent customer service, previous customer service experience is beneficial.\n\uD83D\uDD39Good attention to detail.\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver added value to the organisation\n\uD83D\uDD39Positive attitude and willingness to learn\n\uD83D\uDD39Good timekeeping skills\n
