Start Date: As soon as possibleInterviews: 26th FebruaryBridge Learning Campus currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Higher Learning Teaching Assistant in their Secondary School to assist with the Schools Reading Strategy. The role is varied, and we are looking for adaptable, flexible and resourceful individuals able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. Key responsibilities:
Completing Thinking Reading training and then carrying out this intervention with students across the Secondary campus, and organisation of the Thinking Reading programme to support staff with allocation and timetabling interventions.
Planning for small group intervention, as well as coaching staff to support with their delivery of the programme.
Supporting children in mainstream classes.
Working with teachers to support students in class, with a primary focus on reading but including general teaching interventions.
Supporting assessment and evidencing learning .
Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners .Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.Job requirementsA minimum of 4 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification desirable/willing to or working towards or awaiting confirmationExperience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
