An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time Planning Support Assistant (Monday-Friday) in the Council Support administrative team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator, assisting with an interesting and varied range of duties. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Building Standards and Planning team and also ad hoc administrative support to other areas of the team as and when required.
Provide administrative support to the Planning Service by checking and recording documentation; preparing and issuing Planning and Appeal decision notices; identifying and issuing Neighbour Notifications; and logging and indexing Enforcement cases. Also collating and producing Scheme of Delegation, Committee Expedited/Weekly/Register Lists and Committee Agendas.
Prepare and present data for both internal and external customers.
Co-ordinate and oversee the administration workflow for the Planning service.
Provide support to applicants and Planning colleagues in relation to the planning process and system.
Maintain a working knowledge of Planning legislation, the Data Protection Act and Information Governance.
Oversee and/or process planning fees, invoices and stationery requisitions.
Raise invoices and requisition stationery through PECOS, the internet based procurement system.
Any other appropriate duties, as requested by Management.

Job Details
To provide an effective administrative, guidance and information service to the Planning Department, on behalf of the Council Support Team, ensuring adherence to Planning legislation and Council regulations.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Higher Grade, NC or SVQ Level 2 and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
