Title and Summary Product Development Director - Cross Border Product Development Director Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Product Director to drive forwards the product development and launch of innovative cross border B2B products for bank customers at Mastercard. In this role you will support the Product Cofounder to build out a new product suite and supporting business over the coming years. Specific Responsibilities: - Take responsibility for the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring program objectives are met - Accountable for the delivery of external and internal facing product artefacts such as the Product Guide, Studio material, Confluence and Sharepoint -Oversee product development lifecycle, including defining business requirements and designing business processes. -Bring cross border payments market expertise and leadership to the team with well-informed strategic product decisions on new features that drive revenue -Lead Studio-related activities across diverse functional partners and regions. -Establish and execute customer onboarding processes in collaboration with customer delivery and product integration teams. -Partner with Franchise on the development of future scheme driven propositions -Support the product co-founder and commercial teams in Go-To-Market (GTM) activities and presales engagements with customers. -Work with the regional product teams on in market strategy ensuring roadmap alignment to customer's strategic objectives -Collaborate with the Product Cofounder and Product Innovation team on framing and prioritising new products and features -Own the customer onboarding outcome, partnering with delivery teams and -Coordinate and collaborate closely with the product development team on multiple deliverables General Role: -Evaluate market dynamics to continually validate customer value propositions and refine the product roadmap. -Drives New Product Development including exploration of new opportunity spaces, contributing to Product strategy and partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver new Products that drive incremental revenues for Mastercard -Demonstrates a full understanding of market dynamics including Regulatory, Legal, Competitive and Technology landscapes -Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Management - Technical, Software Development) to design, develop, and launch revenue-driving products. -Evaluates and prioritizes Global and/or Regional product ideas, markets and opportunities and determines with which projects to initiate the development process -Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business context, regulatory landscapes, competition, and technology trends. -Partner with Legal, Data Privacy, Delivery, Finance, Marketing, and Sales teams to create robust go-to-market plans. -Utilise the Studio Framework to rapidly frame ideas, develop concepts, and validate market opportunities. -Ensure end-to-end servicing excellence by partnering with servicing teams to deliver seamless customer experiences. -Lead commercialisation efforts, facilitating a smooth transition with a detailed 18-month roadmap for CX, revenue, and product quality enhancements. -Following successful Prototyping, leverage a thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle to partner with Product Management - Technical and Software Development Guilds to develop scalable Products for launch, ensuring that initial build effort concludes on time and budget -Partner with Servicing teams (e.g. GCC, CTS, Biz Ops) to ensure that the new Product has a robust E2E servicing plan that enables a great end user and customer experience -Provide regular coaching and feedback to direct reports and partners to grow individual functional skills, experience and leadership capabilities -Drive institutionalized knowledge through the use of consistent product documentation (e.g., support documents) across the Studio framework -Develop talent and provide timely feedback, coaching in the moment, and mentoring -Demonstrate and drive Mastercard Way behaviours through their behaviour, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement. Experience: -Significant working knowledge of cross border payments, correspondent banking, Swift, and RTGS systems. -Proven track record of working in a product development environment -Prior experience in payment solutions providers (e.g., Finastra, Volante) or payment service providers (e.g., Western Union, Convera) is preferred. -Background in fintech startups or developing products for banks is a distinct advantage. -Track record of developing new products or solutions and creating high-quality customer-facing deliverables. Skills: -Exceptional written, oral, organisational, and analytical skills with acute attention to detail. -Proven ability of leadership on product design and development, including delivery of high quality supporting documentation -Adept at collaborative work across functional teams to achieve collective goals. -Proficiency in Aha or similar product management tools. -Highly organised with strong project management capabilities to track progress effectively. -Skilled in presenting product concepts to senior executives internally and externally. Qualifications: -Experience in designing and implementing rapid prototyping for regional or local products. -Strong understanding of underlying platform capabilities and limitations through feature execution. -Expertise in market data collection and insights development for product differentiation and competitive strategies.
