Provide a key role in raising standards in line with National Priorities, thus enabling councils to satisfy Education Scotland’s criteria on performance monitoring and continuous improvement. Quality improvement officers will also play a key role in follow-through inspections of schools in cooperation with Education Scotland.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This is a zero hours contract to be used as and when required to support schools using external funding from the Scottish Government to improve leadership and learning, teaching and assessment in school to close the poverty-related attainment gap.
Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. Please note that the grade for this position may be subject to change. Promoted Teaching Posts that meet the criteria will be resized on an annual basis, in line with the SNCT Handbook. Any grade change will be effective from 1st August each year.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
