Position:
An opportunity has arisen for x3 Porter's based at University Hospital Crosshouse on a permanent basis.
What you will do:
The Clinical Support Services is looking for a candidate to join the Portering Department at University Hospital Crosshouse. You will provide a wide and varied range of Portering, Security, and Waste Management Services which support Clinical services throughout NHS Ayrshire and Arran in line with National Standards. Duties will be widely varied such as waste management, transfer of patients in and around hospital sites, transportation of meals, linen, stores, equipment, and supplies, as well as coordinating internal and external mail. You will also have excellent customer care skills, a vital skill when working in the NHS.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You are required to be numerate, literate, and practical and have the ability to operate a wide range of vehicles and mechanical & moving aids.
The below knowledge and experience is essential for this role:
Essential Criteria
1. Clean Driving License
2. Good Communication as this will take place at various levels e.g., Estates, Heads of Department, Practice Managers etc.
3. Must have ability to use own initiative to anticipate and make appropriate decisions.
4. Expected to work with minimal supervision.
5. Flexible approach to work and working hours.
Hours:

Post 1: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1600
Post 2: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 1030 - 1830
Post 3: 37 hours per week, This post is a relief post therefore requires very flexible availability over 7 days per week, 24 hours a day. The role will cover all aspects of Portering duties. Your shifts will be allocated 6 weeks in advance.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A clean, valid drivers licence is essential for this role and you must provide evidence of this.
