What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of our UK IT Engineering & Delivery Team. You will be responsible for managing the technical team to ensure delivery objectives are achieved on our UK Mortgage Platforms.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Technical Team Leader. You will lead a team consisting of Citrix/Windows/Middleware Specialists, Configuration Analysts, Bit Bucket Administrator, Ctrl-M Administrator and DBAs supporting a mixture of Oracle, SQL Server and Web-based applications.
The role will be based in Bristol working alongside Group colleagues and suppliers.
In this Role, you will
* The provisioning of test and development databases and environments.
* Providing the technical lead in multiple projects.
* Collaborating closely with 3rd party offshore production implementation teams (Oracle DBA, Wintel, Control-M, JBoss, Axway and Citrix).
* Routinely supervising out-of-hours production implementations.
* Ensuring technical solutions are forward thinking in their approach and use the latest innovations in order to keep up with a constantly evolving market.
* Providing technical services to other areas including architecture, development and testing teams.
* Collaborating closely with technical resources from a variety of 3rd party suppliers.
* Working with Technical Delivery Managers and internal and external development teams and internal testing teams to agree and monitor project landmarks.
* Identifying risks and dependencies whilst proposing mitigation strategies.
* Providing team management, mentoring, coaching and operational support to team.
* Providing weekly project updates.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Validated hands-on experience in a technical application development role with a consistent track record of effective team management skills and good planning and organisational skills.
* Strong evidence of a desire to move to a people management role if not already in one.
* Ability to optimally perform resource and task management to support multiple teams within the IT department.
* Strong Agile skills including experience of agile toolset, for example Jira and Confluence.
* Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative and to be self-sufficient. Demonstrate personal ownership/responsibility for work.
* Experience of working with large scale business critical systems.
What will make you stand out?
* Technical background in Oracle PL/SQL applications & strong technical skills in one or more of the following areas: DBA, Middleware, Citrix or Windows.
* Experience within the controlled development environment of a large Financial Services organization ideally with knowledge of Mortgage systems.
* Experience of DevOps.
* Experience of Oracle 12+, Oracle Java, Citrix, SQLServer, Control-M, BitBucket and GitHub.
* Experience of some of JBoss, Axway, REST protocol, Data Masking, SQLServer, POSTMAN, Cucumber, Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven.
* People management skills gained through leading team of typically 4-8 staff.

Services provided by the highly skilled UK IT team range from systems integration architecture, design, security, application and API delivery including platform tooling and support.
