Site Manager – 132kv High Voltage Substation– Renewable Energy – Southwest of England – 4 Month Contract Are you an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering high voltage substation projects? If so, please read below. We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a 132kV high voltage substation connected to a 50MW Solar Farm. Employed by the Principal Contractor, you will play a critical role in managing site activities during the final stages of the project, focusing on the electrical installation and commissioning of high voltage equipment. This is a full-time, site-based role that requires a professional with strong electrical knowledge and experience in similar projects. While formal qualifications are not required, a proven track record of managing high voltage electrical installations is essential. Role & Responsibilities: Act as the on-site representative of the Principal Contractor, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project specifications. Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and internal staff involved in electrical installation and commissioning. Monitor progress against project timelines, identifying and addressing any risks to the schedule or quality standards. Supervise the installation and commissioning of key high voltage equipment, including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and cable pulling. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards on-site. Maintain clear communication with the project team, subcontractors and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and challenges. Ensure all required documentation related to site activities, testing and commissioning is completed accurately and on time. Skills And Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Site Management, with a proven tracker record of managing complex projects. Fluency in English for all written and verbal communications. Effective verbal and written communication skills, being able to convey technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders. Clear understanding and knowledge of HSE. Experience in managing high voltage substation construction, specifically electrical installations and commissioning activities. Effective progress tracking and reporting abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
