An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapies Pre-registration Education Lead to lead on the coordination, delivery and reporting of effective Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetic and Speech and Language Therapy pre-registration student education and training at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
As an HCPC registered AHP with relevant NHS experience, you will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality learning experience for pre-registration learners. With comprehensive experience of developing and delivering education, and supporting students in a Clinical Educator role, you will work collaboratively with MDT colleagues and stakeholders to develop transformational delivery of AHP student education.
The post holder will be able to work independently, set priorities, manage time effectively, and possess strong communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
Main duties of the job
To facilitate the education needs of pre-registrant learners within the Trust and practice settings. The individual will be responsible for operational delivery and coordination of learning experiences, placements, on-site support, and Higher Education Institute (HEI) liaison. They will ensure that the registered workforce is supported to receive learners through student allocation.
The role will be responsible for maximising placement opportunities, using data gained from regular audits, alongside managing the commissioned numbers of therapy students undertaking structured pre-registration placements in the Trust. The role will provide cross-functional cover and support for the clinical educators within Therapies.
The individual will work in partnership with the Programme Manager: Therapies Workforce to develop internal processes to manage the North East London and NHS England directives linked to Therapies clinical placement including fair share, and support directives from BHRUT Therapy management that support and provide guidance linked to the strategic education perspective.
The individual will work closely with Therapy Management to operationalise the service, meet KPI’s, objectives, and develop business and contractual processes conforming to our governance standards.

Education/ Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in an Allied Health Profession.
* HCPC Professional Registration.
* Master’s degree or Post-graduate Certification in Education or working towards.
Skills/ Abilities
* Good level of communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to lead improvement and change autonomously
* Take a creative approach to problem solving.
* Ability to conduct audits, write reports and evidence-based documents.
Experience/ Knowledge
* Clinical experience at Band 6 level or above
* Comprehensive experience and exposure to supporting a variety of students in a Clinical Educator role, with awareness of clinical and educational issues.
* Experience in initiating and leading transformation, including clinical audit and service experience.
