Role Purpose: To ensure that the curriculum approach we implement supports all learners to fulfil their Functional Skills potential to help them achieve their future aspirations. To stand over the integrity of, and drive improvements within, the quality and resources of our Functional Skills delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Internally quality assure all elements of Functional Skills qualifications Lead External Quality Assurance visits from Awarding Organisations Meet and exceed the quality threshold for all Functional Skills qualifications Review qualification requirements and update the Functional Skills curriculum approach in line with changes on an ongoing basis Work with the Quality Manager and Head of Work-Based Learning to review and update internal procedures and documentation to ensure they meet the Awarding Organisation requirements on an ongoing basis Approval of all Functional Skills proxy evidence Monitor and manage the timely completion of Functional Skills in line with the curriculum approach Ensure that the sampling strategy and sampling plans for Functional Skills are followed at all times by Internal Quality Assurers Carry out observations and joint observations of Functional Skills delivery (including workshops) according to the IQA Strategy and provide feedback to individuals. This will include both face to face and online observations as required. Review content of and quality assure Functional Skills workshop delivery Ensure all new learners have a Functional Skills action plan in place within their first month on programme Uphold the integrity of Functional Skills invigilation to ensure there is no conflict of interest, raising any concerns to the Quality Manager and Head of Work-Based Learning Manage external stakeholder requests e.g. from the Awarding Organisations, in consultation with the Quality Manager and Head of Work-Based Learning Provide Quality Manager, Head of Work-Based Learning and wider business stakeholders with monthly reports on timely completion of Functional Skills against curriculum approach, number of overdue Functional Skills elements, Functional Skills action plan completion, development themes identified through observations and sampling and any other data as required. To keep own continuous professional development current through attendance at internal/external events and training and keeping abreast of sector changes Share knowledge and updates with wider teams to ensure practice is always current in consultation with Quality Manager, Head of Work-Based Learning and the Learning and Development Team Raise any safeguarding concerns to the Safeguarding Team in line with reporting procedures
Qualifications Essential: Maths and English qualifications to a minimum level 3 Relevant Teaching/Assessor qualification
Qualifications Desirable: Relevant Internal Quality Assurance qualification Leadership and Management qualification ESOL qualification Experience of delivering qualifications within work-based learning provision Delivery of qualifications and/or training within the Health and Social Care sector
