Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within F3 for a committed paediatric Sister/Charge Nurse with a passion for Paediatric nursing. This opportunity is a 1 year fixed term/secondment position for 37.5 hours a week on Ward F3. F3 is predominantly a day surgery ward as well as a short stay admission unit and infusion area. We are looking for someone with good organisational and clinical skills with a vision to providea quality service to the patients we see. You will be expected to work alongside the existingteam to provide a positive experience for patients and family members whilst helping todevelop the service we provide. As a band 6 there will be an expectation that you will lead ateam of staff and undertake development reviews, 1:1 meetings and complete sicknessmeetings. You will also be responsible for developing the service and creating a positive workenvironment for all staff on F3. You will be required to have a good understanding of how F3 works, what patient groups wesee and be able to work alongside members of the MDT to enable efficient working betweentheatres, recovery and other areas. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care, without supervision to children requiring in-patient hospitalisation and day stay care facilities. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration staff. Regularly co-ordinate the management of care delivered by nursing and non-nursing support staff, taking charge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager.
