Laboratory Technician - Fixed Term Contract

As a Laboratory Technician at Eurofins Genomics Europe, DTC & Population Genetics, Products & Services Limited, you will perform analytical laboratory work, handling and recording accurate analytical source data, including insertion of these in Eurofins systems (Worksheets, LIMS and QMS).
Please note this is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week - working 7.5 hours per day between 07:00 - 23:00 Monday to Friday. This position is a 9-month fixed term contract.
* Preparation of worksheets to use daily for laboratory work.
* Contribute to quality assurance by participating in the implementation of new analysis and new equipment.
* Keep up to date with and follow the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and included sub-instructions for laboratory work.
* Management of incoming samples.
* Preparation of samples, cDNA and Master mix reagents.
* Handle, store, and discard samples after analysis.
* Handling waste and maintaining a clean and tidy laboratory work area.
* Handling and maintaining of instruments and equipment.
* Perform sample reception, quality control, normalization of samples, PCR preparations, procedures for analysis on the instrument and Micro Array procedures.
* Ensure personal User-Training-Log is up to date and properly documented.
* Contribute to the preparation of safety procedures.
* Reporting any problems in the laboratory to the Team Leader.
* Perform monthly stock inventory.
* Ensure that Eurofins Genomics Europe, DTC & Population Genetics, Products & Services Limited performs analysis at a prominent level of quality and delivers reliable results within deadlines.
* Ensure analysis is performed according to the company policies and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
* Knowledge of laboratory quality system in order to comply with the policies, procedures and associated documents.
* Excellent IT knowledge and experience.
* GCSE qualifications, or equivalent.
* Basic knowledge of molecular biology and first hands-on molecular biological experience will be an advantage.
* Skills in equipment maintenance.
* Eagerness to learn.
* Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
* High sense of quality, flexibility, team spirit as well as being able to work independently and very reliable way of working.
* Flexibility and willingness for shift work.
