Fleet Manager – Milton Keynes
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 per annum DOE

Reporting to the UK Operations Director, the purpose of the role will focus on the management of all mobile plant, commercial vehicles, and vans operated by Renewi UK Services Ltd (RUKS) PFI/PPP contract portfolio and providing support to the operations teams to ensure the safe and efficient use of existing and new equipment.
We are looking for an individual who is commercially aware. You will be an excellent communicator at all levels, with strong presentation skills and a good influencing and persuasive style. Candidates will be customer-focused, with the ability to build and maintain good relationships. Due to the variety of the workload, individuals must be disciplined and well-organised, whilst maintaining a good attention to detail. You will be an excellent team player and manager, self-motivated with high levels of drive and desire to achieve or exceed targets and personal objectives. You will be numerate and financially astute, with good understanding of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to allow the preparation of reports and management data for use by the board and other senior managers. A valid UK driving licence is essential.
Some of your key responsibilities:
1. P&L responsibility for UK mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans.
2. Develop and manage annual, 5-year and whole life lifecycle plans for all RUKS PFI/PPP contract areas for the provision of mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans.
3. Review and development of business cases, and cost-benefit analysis for replacement mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans within the annual lifecycle plan.
4. Provide monthly performance updates to RUKs Directors for the management of mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans.
5. Preparation of technical specifications and working with procurement on the delivery of new equipment.
6. Provide maintenance and operational staff technical guidance in the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans.
7. Develop Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with these Key Suppliers to ensure best practice and levels of service and discounts wherever possible.
8. Management of on-line platforms for monitoring plant, vehicles, Insurance, Cameras, tracking, fuel, driver CPC, driver licenses and LOLER.
9. Manage scheduling of plant and equipment servicing to comply with all current statutory testing requirements.
10. Facilitate replacement vehicles and plant to cover breakdowns and statutory testing.
11. Management of the van fleet. This will include negotiation with the nominated supplier.
12. Arrange for the provision of fuel cards for Commercial vehicles and vans and maintain records of usage.
13. Maintain documentation and records to comply with any required legislation relevant to plant and equipment.
14. Protect the Companies Operator Licences and provide support to site managers to maintain compliance with the licence requirements.
Essential criteria for this role:
1. Professionally qualified. (desirable would be Operator Licence CPC and affiliation to a recognised industry body, IRTE, SOE)
2. Proven track record in the management, procurement, and maintenance of mobile plant and equipment.
3. P&L management experience.
4. Knowledge of UK legislation surrounding operation of LCV ‘O’ licence.
5. Excellent organisational and commercial skills.
6. Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
7. Self-motivated, confident and ability to work as part of a team.
8. Knowledge of UK legislation affecting mobile plant, commercial vehicles and vans, including LOLER, PUWER, etc.
